Episode 90 - Replay: Sacred Time - Elul

“When we’re able to stand in true humility and integrity, it’s really nice… you’re not operating from your shadows anymore.”— Ganga Devi

The month of Elul is a time of intimacy, love, and relationships. It reminds us that the sacred exists within the mundane — we are beloved because we feel G-d every day, in every human and messy moment. Elul’s reflective energy guides us into the New Year, preparing us for the High Holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. By reflecting on our actions and inactions of the past year, we hold ourselves responsible and accountable, so that we are able to cleanse and renew as we move forward with grace. In doing so, we return to Elul’s beloved meditation on loving and forgiving ourselves, as well as others.

This episode of the Living Jewishly Podcasts is an instalment of Sacred Time, a podcast devoted to the healing art of the Hebrew calendar. This replay episode reflects upon the significance of the month of Elul and touches upon major themes related to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

In this episode, Bluth and Ganga Devi explore the rich possibilities of shadow work, the nuances of accountability, and why we are so keen to push boundaries. Join us as we introspectively and collectively work toward renewal and integrity during the High Holidays.

“We are really looking at our calendar as our blueprint — our healing art.”— Bluth
